worked fine, but

The thing seems to work. Lets you set a temp, reasonable power.Only odd thing about the unit I got, the ON/OFF switch seems to be labeled backwards, sothat you could burn yourself if you didn't realize the label OFF is either in the wrong place, or the switch is installed backwards. But since the iron displays its temp you know by looking whether its powered up or not,so you and are only likely to get burned the first you use it, If your unit has got the backwards switch.

80W Solder Iron With LCD Adjustable Temperature

If your having trouble soldering and need more heat. Than this solder Iron is for you. From thick to thin wire. I haven't had any problems. This Solder Iron comes with a big roll of solder. Not a little tube. 5 extra tips for different applications. Holder for iron and Flux. It will work better if you keep the tip clean. Also you don't have use flux on everything. Smaller things you don't need it. Bigger things you could use it. This Iron gets so hot you really don't need it. I only use it if I'm having trouble soldering something. If you use it all the time your tips won't last as long. Because it eats away at the coating on the tips. Then the tips are no good.

Great soldering iron

I needed a replacement for my cheap Harbor Freight soldering iron to do electronic soldering. This one is so much better and has a temperature control. I have used two of the tips so far and the tiny one was very useful to reach into a very tight spot. I really liked the generous roll of solder and container of flux and don't see that I will use it up soon. I have a huge recapping project on an old radio coming up and will really see how well it does but so far it has been great.

Short cable

I bought this to replace my old soldering iron that only had 1 temperature and I couldn't find tip replacements. This one heats up pretty quickly with is very nice and easily adjust the temperature, you can change from Celsius to Fahrenheit but I noticed it has to be change it every time you turn it ON so I just gave up and just adjust it in Celsius. The other thing is that the cable is too short so I find myself fighting it to use the iron.. is about 3-4ft and the inline switch marked "ON" is the off and "OFF" is on which is a bit of a safety issue but ill just have to umplugg it everytime when I'm not actively using the iron.

Gets the job done..

5/5 Stars C Heats fast and great valueThis 80W soldering iron heats up in seconds, holds a steady temperature, and the clear digital readout makes it easy to monitor. One of my main buying decisions was finding a kit that came with a case, and I'm really glad it has one to keep everything organized and easy to pack away.

Really good.

This works really well. It is very easy to use, and comes with multiple tips and a temperature control making it perfect for electronic projects, but for most people it can be slightly intimidating for first time use because of how hot it gets. The stand is very confusing to use and I still haven't figured how to use it, but otherwise it is a really great product.

Great for small jobs

Works great for the price. Takes a while to heat up, but once it's hot, it works well. The accessories work well. The holder is flimsy and the sponge is too thin, but if you are careful, it works okay.

Great deal on a really nice soldering iron and extras

I was skeptical about the wattage, features, and included extras for the low low price but I‘ve been totally impressed. In fact I ordered a second one for my son as he was also blown away with all you get for under $20. There is a substantial roll of solder, not the tiny sample you get with most irons. It has a full size container of flux and many tips also making the price even more shocking. The best part though is the iron itself. The digital temperature display makes setting it consistent and easy and it heats up literally in seconds. Where my old pen style irons would take a few minutes to really get up to temperature this amazing unit does it literally in about 15-20 seconds and then hold that temperature perfectly. It’s also light weight and thin with a comfortable padded grip and nice sharp tips making precision jobs a breeze. I still keep my 200w/260w soldering gun handy for larger jobs like 8guage wire but for most things this little cheap iron is great. Much better and more complete than I ever expected. 10/10!
